Apple Macbook Pro 15-Inch 8GB RAM Kit Costs $1.2k

The MacBook Pro is never going to be an impulse purchase, not for most people, but you can rely on Apple to offer the sort of upgrade options that will make even the well-heeled pause for thought. An 8GB DDR3 upgrade is now available for the notebook, but it’ll set you back a cool $1,200.

The kit consists of two 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SODIMMs and is apparently compatible with the 2.53GHz 2.66GHz and 2.93GHz 15-inch MacBook Pro models. It’s only available as a DIY kit; currently the maximum memory you can specify a new 15-inch MacBook Pro with is 4GB. The 17-inch MBP offers 8GB as a $1,000 option.

Samsung B7300 Leaked, Running Windows Mobile 6.1

Not much is known about this UltraTOUCH-inspired B7300, outside of a 3 megapixel autofocus camera and micro USB slot. Considering the source of the pictures and branding on the device, it’s entirely possible this one will be stuck in the far east. Still, quite the looker and we’ve got plenty of eye candy to keep us occupied until more infomoration surfaces.

HP Launches Pavilion DV2 Entertainment Notebook PC

Today, HP unveiled their latest thin and light ultraportable PC - the HP Pavilion dv2 Entertainment notebook PC - powered by the new 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor.

The dv2 is under 1-inch thin, weighs 1.64kg and offers high-definition entertainment features such as HP MediaSmart and Blu-ray drive (sold separately). Other specifications include 12.1-inch display, up to 4GB DDR2 memory, 500GB hard disk, HP webcam, built-in wireless 802.11a/b/g/n with Bluetooth, and preinstalled with Windows Vista.

Hitachi CP-X2010 2,200 Lumen Projector

Hitachi have announced a new triple-LCD projector, the Epson CP-X2010, with 2,200 lumen brightness and a 500:1 contrast ratio. The CP-X2010 also has integrated speakers, but unlike most onboard audio there’s a full 16W on offer.

The CP-X2010 is aimed predominantly at education markets, but we’d wager home installs would value its low 29 dBA noise rating and extended 5,000hr lamp life in Eco Mode. There’s also Source Naming - allowing users to rename sources so as to mean more than just “Input 2? - and closed captioning support.

Lian Li Launches The All New PC-B10 Mid-Tower Chassis

Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd has launched the PC-B10 Mid Tower chassis. The all aluminum design features two fans on the front (1x 140mm@900RPM + 1x 120mm@1500RPM) and one rear 120mm@1000RPM extraction fan. The sleek brushed aluminum chassis has a front door with lock which gives access to 5x 5.25 bays for ODD™s. The fans have removable filters which are easily removed and washable. The dimensions stand at 210×440x515mm ( W, H, D). The unique Power supply bracket allows the PSU to be secured using only the tool-less designed clasp ideal to hold the PSU securely. The side panels have foam padding to make sure that noisy components are completely silenced. ASUS Announces Eee Pc E1004DN With Optical Drive, 1008HA Gets A Release Date

In a bombshell of moderate proportions, the gang at DigiTimes have reported that ASUS will be following Mouse Computer’s lead (when was the last time you heard that?), and have announced the first Eee PC equipped with an optical drive, the E1004DN. This bad boy sports an Intel Atom N280 CPU, a 120GB HDD, and will be in the ballpark of NT $18,000 - 20,000 (roughly $531 - $590). It should see the light of day sometime in mid-April. The same source reports that the Eee PC 1008HA will be getting its release in May. Out of curiosity, we asked @billyjoel for a comment and have yet to receive a response.

LG GM630 - New TV Phone For The Americas?

It looks like the Americas will soon get a new TV phone, namely the LG GM630.

Unlike the other LG handset unveiled today (GM200), the GM630 seems to be only an updated version of an older device: the LG HB620T, which is already available across Europe.

LG GM630 was recently approved by the FCC, and now some live pictures with it have appeared on the Web.

Since it resembles the HB620T, LG GM630 is a clamshell with a QVGA internal display, a small external screen, 2MP camera, Bluetooth, FM radio and MicroSD card support.

Two New BD Recorders With Actvila Function In Japan

Behold the BDZ-A750 (320GB) and the BDZ-A950 (500GB), the latest Blu-ray burner player and HDD video recorder combos from Sony.

Featuring a heavy networking touch, these recorders stream and download videos from either Tsutaya TV and acTVila VOD service in Japan and forward these contents directly to a PSP or a Sony compatible DAP via USB.

On top of that they’re DLNA compatible allow access from anywhere on the network to recorded contents (PS3, PC, etc.).
