Quick Look: Kodak Zx1 Camcorder

We’ve been excited about the Zx1 since they announced it at CES and now it’s finally arrived. This successor to the popular Zi6 is a mini-camcorder with direct-to-YouTube capability along with an SD card slot for storage expansion. This new model is weatherproof but not submersible, something you’ll discover if you drop it into the toilet.

This wee camera is considerably smaller than the first model and does not have an external USB jack. It also uses a proprietary USB jack, which makes us sad clowns. However, you can also simply pop out the SD card.

Thinkware To Roll Out A Low-End 3D Navigation ‘Inavi K3′

Thinkware (www.thinkware.co.kr) rolled out its 3rd generation 3D navigation device in Korea market. This newly released ‘iNAVI K3′ is a low-end navigation device that provides useful information on the 3D environment structure through a 7-inch WVGA(800 x 480 resolution) LCD.

Supporting SiRF V6(Instant Fix?), the iNAVI K3 adopts 900Mhz CPU, 8GB SDHC memory card, 256MB of RAM and 512M ROM. Other features included DMB, video player, mp3 playback, game, car diary function and more.

GALAXY Unveils GeForce 9800GT Low Power Graphics Card

As awareness for environmental protection goes stronger, the pursuit for lower power consumption also becomes more popular. After GALAXY successfully launched the GeForce 9600GT Low Power Low Profile edition, GALAXY recently added two new models to the Low Power series: the 512MB and 1GB 9800GT Low Power. Although both cards adopt NVIDIA’s 9800GT GPU, they do not require extra 6-pin power connector because of their low power consumption.

The GALAXY GeForce 9800GT Low Power graphics cards are based on 55nm G92-283-B1 GPU core, 112 stream processors, 1GB and 512MB of high-speed GDDR3 memory across a 256-bit memory interface. They have a core clock of 550MHz and a memory clock of 900MHz. Furthermore, they are with PCI-Express 2.0-compliant, support DirectX10 and SM40, support hardware decoding of H.264 video format, feature NVIDIA technologies such as PureVideo, CUDA and PhysX.

Wacom’s Intuos4 Tablet Gets Put Through Its Paces

If you’re a digital artist, there’s a good chance you’ve had your eye on Wacom’s new Intuos4 tablets. The gang at PC Magazine have just put one through the ringer — and have been kind enough to post a review for all and sundry to peep as well. According to the reviewer, the device occupies a “sweet spot” in the company’s lineup. While offering decent resolution and pressure sensitivity when compared to the cut-rate Bamboo (the Intuos4 responds to as little as one gram of pressure), it still can’t hold a candle to the Cintiq series — except in price. The latter will run you up to two grand, while Wacom’s newest starts at $229 and includes any two of: Photoshop Elements, Autodesk Sketchbook Express, and Corel Painter Sketch Pad. Diguang A1901 Ultra Slim 19-inch LCD display

Chinese company Diguang announced the A1901, an ultra slim 19-inch LCD screen measure just 13.3mm thick. Diguang A1901 is a LED-backlit display with 1440×900 resolution, 300cd/m2 brightness, 100,000:1 dynamic contrat ratio, 2ms response time and 160/160-degree viewing angle. The press release did not mention the availability and pricing.

Orange France Launching 6 Android Phones Including HTC Hero

French website Mobinaute have discovered that Orange France plan to launch six new Android powered handsets in 2009, including the HTC Hero which was revealed back in January by HTC’s leaked 2009 line-up.

According to the leaked information, the French Orange network will see Android powered handsets from Sony Ericsson, Motorola, LG, Samsung and HTC.

Windows 7 Edges Out Vista In Thorough Gaming Benchmarks

Looking to find out what’s the better gaming experience out there right now — Windows 7 beta or Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 — the folks at PC Perspective put both operating systems through the ringer with help from seven graphics cards running the gamut of price ranges. Overall, three ATI Radeon HD and four NVIDIA GeForce cards were pitted with six games and applications in one of the lengthiest benchmarking features we’ve ever read. AMD / ATI gets credit for being the first to release combined drivers that work on both OSs, and with one lone exception, performance on the Windows 7 machine was equal to or better than Vista. That said, the reccomendations for each system is the same: ATI gets an advantage here for cards in the $120 to $130 range, but the competition is much closer as you start looking at more expensive models. The magic all ties back to advancements on a graphene chip known as a frequency multiplier, and while the nitty-gritty of all this is far too complicated for the layperson to grasp, all you really need to know is this: finally, you can rest assured that you’ll one day own a chip capable of handling Duke Nukem Forever.

LG Arena To Retail For €599 In Europe

We know almost all there is to know about LG KM900 Arena, except for a tiny detail: its price.

Well, according to PortableGear.nl, the mighty 5MP touchscreen phone will retail in the Netherlands for €599 (including VAT). If we’re talking in US Dollars, that’s roughly about $810.

So we assume the handset will have a similar retail price all over Europe.

However, LG probably wants to sell the Arena via various mobile carriers, so end users should be able to buy it for much less if they sign contract agreements with said carriers.
