As awareness for environmental protection goes stronger, the pursuit for lower power consumption also becomes more popular. After GALAXY successfully launched the GeForce 9600GT Low Power Low Profile edition, GALAXY recently added two new models to the Low Power series: the 512MB and 1GB 9800GT Low Power. Although both cards adopt NVIDIA’s 9800GT GPU, they do not require extra 6-pin power connector because of their low power consumption.
The GALAXY GeForce 9800GT Low Power graphics cards are based on 55nm G92-283-B1 GPU core, 112 stream processors, 1GB and 512MB of high-speed GDDR3 memory across a 256-bit memory interface. They have a core clock of 550MHz and a memory clock of 900MHz. Furthermore, they are with PCI-Express 2.0-compliant, support DirectX10 and SM40, support hardware decoding of H.264 video format, feature NVIDIA technologies such as PureVideo, CUDA and PhysX.
