Crucial Ballistix Tracer Blue PC3-12800 6GB Memory Kit Review

I have to admit that when I originally saw the press release stating that Crucial was launching a new line of memory called the “Ballistix” series, I first thought it said “Ballstix”. While I thought the name was weird, it wouldn’t have surprised me with what some companies have called their products over the years.
With Crucial being a part of the Lexar group, which is part of Micron Technology; one of the leaders in actual chip manufacturing, you feel confident that you’re buying a quality component here. You have to think that while Micron sell to many companies, they’re going to give their own brand of memory some of the best chips on offer.

Core i5 Motherboards Sighted From Asus And MSI

While we are still many months away from seeing Lynnfield chips on the shelves, PC Games Hardware managed to get a bunch of pictures of upcomming ASUS boards.
ASUS has two boards with the LGA 1160 socket: the P7U and P7U Pro. The only notable difference between the two appears to be the second PCIe x16 slot on the Pro, while the P7U has a PCIe X1 slot in place of it.
The latch on the LGA 1160 socket has undergone a slight redesign, perhaps to make it a little more secure. It is also a little odd that both of the boards still have the LGA 1160 socket, as Intel removed four pins from the chip back in October to make it LGA 1156

Palit GeForce GTS 250 2048MB Review

The graphics industry certainly works in mysterious ways. Sometimes we see products released as a respin, a product that is altered, a little customized but in essence the same product as before. NVIDIA is a star when it comes to this. Last year they introduced the GeForce 9800 GTX+, an update from the standard 9800 GTX, yet now based on 55nm technology and slightly faster. It was NVIDIA’s answer to ATIs Radeon 4850.
This week we are landing in March, it’s CeBIT (exhibition) time and as such traditionally NVIDIA always releases new products. This year they have GeForce 3D Vision and their ION platform in the lineup, next to that .. a ‘new’ graphics card. Well, redesigned yes, not exactly new though. NVIDIA is respinning the GeForce 9800 GTX+, this card is now rebranded as GeForce GTS 250.
Though the board design itself definitely has changed, in essence the product is feature and performance wise 98% similar to that GeForce 9800 GTX+, even with the same clock speeds and 128 stream processors, the same 55nm G92b graphics processor. Its clock-speeds are 738/1836/1100 MHz (core/shader/memory), on par with reference 9800 GTX+ speeds. The card will have the same 512/1024 MB of GDDR3 memory and the very same 256-bit memory bus.

Galaxy GeForce GTS 250 1GB Graphics Card Review

Today we see the release of the GTS 250. Now, we’re not going to sugarcoat it; this card is a 9800 GTX+ which we saw come out around August of last year. The thing about the 9800 GTX+, however, is that it’s nothing more than an overclocked 9800 GTX, which was a card we saw released at the end of March last year.
What you have here is essentially a 12 month old card with some increased clocks. We’re not sure if NVIDIA wanted to celebrate the 9800 GTX birthday by re-releasing, but for whatever reason we have a new name on what is really a 12 month old card.
