LG PRADA Phone Launch In Singapore

At the event, Chang Ma, Vice President of Marketing Strategy at LG Electronics Mobile, and Matteo Sessa Vitali, Licensing Director at PRADA, talked about the companies partnership and the launch of the mobile phone throughout Asia.
VR Zone had a hands-on with the new LG PRADA phone. The touchscreen display is very responsive, but the user interface is in black and white and not colored like other phones. The QWERTY keyboard slides out from the back and the keys are large enough to type your messages.

T-Mobile Launches 8MP Samsung Memoir Camera Phone

Samsung and T-Mobile today announced the first 8MP camera phone to land on a U.S. carrier, the Memoir. The Memoir, which features a full touchscreen display, looks more like a point and shoot camera than a cell phone. The device will sport Samsung’s TouchWIZ user interface, which features a left sidebar that owners can use to drag and drop applications to and from the phone’s desktop. A new photo widget will allow Memoir owners to quickly share photos to Flickr, Kodak Gallery, Photobucket, and Snapfish. The Memoir will run on T-Mobile’s new 3G network, so it shouldn’t have an issue getting those pictures to the Web in a snap.

Westinghouse 1080p 42” LCD In $699

Westinghouse apparently missed the memo that the holiday shopping season is over. Unless it considers Valentine’s Day more of a guy’s holiday (hey, if you’re gonna give diamonds, maybe you’ll get an LCD). The company has unveiled its new affordable, full high-def resolution LCD TV—the 42-inch TX-42F450S the features, among other things, a tidy $699 MSRP.
We know you might be thinking without the Sharp, Sony or other major label it’s more cubic zirconia but the specs have this 42-inch set looking like a diamond in the rough if you’re in the market for a budget-friendly TV.

nVidia GeForce GTS 250 Rebranded

Nvidia will be rebranding their 55nm G92 based GeForce 9800 GTX+ card to become GeForce GTS 250. Card makers are expected to receive a remarked G92 core from Nvidia to make their GTS 250 cards. The markings on the G92 core changes from G92-420-B1 to G92-421-B1 to differentiate between the two although they are essentially the same. The device ID for the GTS 250 is 0×0615 instead of 0×0612 for the 9800GTX+. Specs remains unchanged at 738MHz core clock, 1836MHz shader clock, 1100MHz memory clock. AIC partners should have received the remarked GPU by now and preparing for the newly rebrand GTS 250 cards.

Sony Walkman X-Series Review

Journaldugeek has an exclusive on Sony’s touchscreen Walkman, the first of the X series. We were excited when the Sony Walkman NWZ-X1000 was first announce, this being Sony’s first touchscreen PMP. We know as far as design goes, it has ways to go before beating the iPod Touch but performance is another thing altogether. Greg of Journaldugeek gives the X1000’s audio top marks and especially like the Noise Canceling Sytem, which you simply cannot live without. The OLED screen is topnotch. Sony has developed its own CoverFlow, which differs greatly from Apple’s. A video review is coming soon for the WiFi-enabled, 3-inch touchscreen (capacitive) and YouTube-playing Walkman X1000.

HP Mini 1000 MI Gets Previewed

HP’s launch of the Mini 1000 netbook back in October 2008 seems like a long time ago; since then we’ve reviewed the budget ultraportable and, dare we say it, moved on to excitement over its rivals. However there’s one last Mini 1000 variant to play with, that with HP’s new Mobile Internet Experience (MIE) - a Linux-based version of the netbook with the company’s own custom GUI. James Kendrick found one on his doorstep, and gave some first-impressions.
Under the hood, the HP Mini 1000 MI is little changed from its Windows XP siblings. A 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB SSD for storage and a 10-inch LED-backlit display, together with a 3-cell battery, two standard USB 2.0 ports, multiformat card reader and a tweaked USB port for HP’s own Mini Mobile Drive.

Last week Acer had a little press conference and we had the chance to discover the Acer Aspire One D150, the new 10.1” Netbook… Now the little and powerful Netbook has made an official debut in Japan, and will be sold around the 20th of February for 50000 Yen. Except the Screen size and a new trackpad, the Specs of our D150 is pretty much similar to the ones of the 100… Atom N270 @ 1.6GHz, 160GB of HDD, Intel 945GSE, Wifi B/G, Bluetooth… And will feature both a 3 and 6 cell battery.

Asus Eee PC 701 UMPC

Whether they call it UMPC, Tablet or MID, the looks suggest another cheap Asus product. The Eee PC 701 UMPC is still in the prototype stage. The EeePC 701 seems to be the end-result of Asus’s Origami concept. It’s very light, too, at 1.68 pounds. Apparently it’s a stylus touchscreen sort of a deal. No one knows what kind of battery it will be using. The hands-on photos is by X-gadget, which you need to check out for more of them.

Leaked Slide Shows Official Information From Intel On The Upcoming 8 Core Xeon

Following the news which we covered here, Hexus.net has got hold of a slide which officially details Intel’s new 8-core Enterprise Xeon processor. Codenamed Nehalem EX, it will feature 8 processing cores, with 2 threads per core, totaling 16 threads and as had been previously said, a transistor count of 2.3 Billion. This information was obtained as part of a pre-ISSCC conference call, but more information is expected to be officially announced at the start of the ISSCC on 8th February.

Asus Eee PC 1000HE Put Through Some Preliminary Testing By Laptopmag

The Asus Eee PC 1000HE is a slight variation of the Asus Eee PC 1000H. It comes with pretty much the same exact features as the original, and in fact it also has the same chassis. But it does sport a slightly better processor, the Intel Atom N280 chip, as well as a much-improved chicklet-style keyboard. LaptopMag was able to get their hands on an Asus Eee 1000HE unit recently, and their first impressions show that this new model is a downright improvement over the old one. Qimonda Shrinks Size, Trims Power Consumption Of DDR3 Memory Chips

Qimonda AG, the dynamic random access memory (DRAM) producer that filed for insolvency in January, has formally introduced its new memory chips, developed using Buried Wordline technology, which greatly reduce manufacturing costs as well as power consumption. Unfortunately, given current condition of Qimonda it remains to be seen whether the new products see the light of the day.The new 2Gb DDR3 DRAM chip made using 46nm process technology has a die size of less than 55mm², which means that the amount of such chips on a 300mm wafer triples compared to 75nm process technology and thus is expected to increase production efficiency by 200%, according to Qimonda. The company did not reveal actual core-clock speed or voltage characteristics of its invention. “With the first functional chips on 46nm, Qimonda shows the potential to regain technology leadership in the DRAM industry.
