Cree Announces World's First IPX5-Rated Tri-Color LED For Full-Color Displays

Cree today announced the first commercially available water-resistant, surface-mount, high-brightness LEDs for outdoor video screens. This RGB (red-green-blue) LED has an IPx5 rating, indicating that the LED is protected against low-pressure jets of water from all directions.The CLV6A-FKB features a black face for improved contrast in full-color video screens, decorative lighting and amusement applications.

It has a unique encapsulation resin with UV-inhibitors, minimizing the effects of long-term exposure to direct sunlight which helps to improve the stability of the light-output over the life of the LED. It also features a unique matched horizontal radiation pattern—enhancing color mixing and pixel-to-pixel color consistency.

Logitec Portable DVD Player For Netbooks

Netbooks do not come with built-in DVD player, in order to maintain their compact size. Thanks to Logitech, having announced a portable DVD player which should be a great companion for netbooks, and allows the users to playback movies on DVDs while on the run.

The Logitec portable DVD player is directly powered by the USB port of the computer. It also doubles as a boot drive that comes in handy when your hard drive crashes and you need to reinstall the operating system. The drive can read both single and dual layer DVD. It will be out in Japan in October for $55 but no news whether it’ll make its way to other countries.

The Conny Q3 Sports is a ball-shaped video game console that is designed to play like the Nintendo Wii for Sports gaming. The Conny Q3 is made in the mainland of China, and it’s definitely priced much lower than the Wii, costs only $99 USD with five games included, while the Wii costs around $250.

The little ball-shaped game console only takes up very little space. Just hook it up it to your giant HDTV at home, you can then start playing the included sports games with its wireless 3D motion-sensing controller. The five games included are the dancing (aka Hot Dance), fishing, bowling, golf and tennis. Unlike the Wii, this China-made game console only allows you to play the five included games. It does not offer the flexibility that a Wii does.
