Pill MP3 Player

The Pill MP3 Player measures 2.7 inches long and is 1 inch in diameter. To access the controls of the Pill MP3 the user needs to pull apart the player. To skip tracks the user needs to twist the player either backwards or forwards depending on which way the skip needs to be.

It’s an odd looking MP3 player. Unfortunately there are no details on what it can store, what the battery life is like and how music can be transferred to it. I assume there will be somewhere to connect a USB cable to so you can drag and drop music to internal memory.

Review - Kindle DX

Another month, another version of the Kindle. I’ve been using a Kindle since it was shaped like a very thin doorstop and I’m delighted each time I see a new version. The latest version is the DX, a monstrous 9-inch version of the smaller Kindle 2 that supports direct PDF reading without conversion.

Why am I interested in the Kindle? Well, I already have a first-gen Kindle so I’m not too keen on upgrading immediately. But I’ve been waiting for Amazon to solve something with the Kindle DX that has been nagging me for quite a while. You see, I have a problem. I don’t want to read the New York Times on paper anymore but paper seems like the only logical way to read it. Reading the newspaper on a gadget is rude and dangerous - especially with toddlers around the house.

Smartfish Tru - Motion Mouse

The Tru:Motion mouse is built by a company named Smartfish Technologies. It’s different to your average mouse because it sits on top of a small pedestal that allows the mouse to be dipped from side to side (wiggled) while you use it. It’s kind of an odd idea but the company says that as you slide the mouse backwards and forwards, side to side, as you normally would a mouse, the extra pivoting motion makes it more comfortable to use.

The downside is that it does have another moving part, so the only real hope here (assuming it all works as described) is that they make it strong enough to last several years which is about the normal lifespan of a mouse.

Amazon Sells Out Of Kindle DX After Two Days

Just days after shipping on Wednesday, the Kindle DX e-book reader is already sold out at Amazon, with another shipment expected by June 17th. The $489 device, sold exclusively through Amazon, apparently sold out on the first day, also thanks to pre-orders.

The DX is the largest Kindle device to date, sporting a 9.7-inch, 1200×824 resolution e-ink display as well as PDF file support, unlike the original Kindle and its successor, the Kindle 2. It can hold up to 3,500 books, periodicals, and documents in its memory and downloads this content via a no-charge 3G data connection. A tilt sensor will change the orientation of the screen as needed.
