Apple iPod shuffle (Third Gen) Review

Okay. Hands up. We know we're a bit late on this one, but we've only just been able to get hold of the, ahem, brand new (ish) iPod shuffle. We're at least 99 per cent sure that the delay is a case of limited product samples and nothing to do with our slightly negative initial impressions.

All we can say is that we've definitely come to the shuffle with a completely open mind. After all, we rather liked the last one, and while it has been outclassed by a number of rival devices in terms of sound quality, usability and value, it's still one of the finest micro MP3 players on the market.

Fatal1ty teams with Fusion-io to launch 80GB ioXtreme PCI Express SSD

Up until now, Fusion-io's glorious creations have largely been priced out of consideration for general consumers. During E3, however, the storage gurus teamed up with Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel in order to debut a consumer-level PCI Express SSD card. Engineered to provide wicked fast transfer rates within high-performance PCs, the ioXtreme is an 80GB PCI Express card that should make your traditional HDD seem absolutely antiquated. Better still, it's slated to ship next month for the not-too-terribly-egregious price of $895, which certainly gets you into the game for a lot less than OCZ's (admittedly more capacious) Z-Drive.

Nokia N900 revealed in Nseries presentation? (Update: probably not)

We're not sure how we missed this, but it seems the Nokia N900 (aka "Rover") was not only mentioned, but visually detailed in some candor during an Nseries presentation way back in October of last year. If you fast forward to about the three-minute mark in this video, Nokia's next-gen, Maemo 5-powered internet tablet is seen doing its thing, and it differs in a few key details from the last leak -- most noticeably, it's got a big d-pad on the left just like its predecessor and there's no sign of an earpiece for making calls over the rumored 3G radio. In fact, it really just looks like a whited-out N810, which makes us wonder whether this isn't purely conceptual, especially considering the age of the video.

Hard drive docking bays have become relatively popular because they are a simple and useful product, but with so many out there, companies need a way to make theirs stand out from the rest.
