Asus UX50V 15.6in CULV Laptop Preview

Asus is certainly no stranger to creating stylish products, with its latest 1008HA 'Seashell' Eee PC being a rather arresting example. Now the company has worked its magic on a planned entrant into the Intel CULV (consumer ultra-low voltage) segment, with the 15.6in UX50V.

Measuring in at a little over an inch (32.8mm at its thickest point), the UX50V looks slimmer still thanks to its aggressively-tapered edges. A single slab of piano-black makes up the lid, which does make it rather high-maintenance but looks the part and is offset by the base's slim matte surround.

InnoDisk unveils miniscule 128GB nanoSSD at Computex

The last time InnoDisk made waves, it was just about this time last year with its 128GB FiD 2.5-inch SATA 10000 SSD. At this year's Computex, the company was showcasing yet another new storage model: the 128GB SATA nanoSSD. The tiny device was even strapped onto a motherboard that was vibrating out of control in order to show its resistance to the shakes, which honestly, is the most provocative aspect of the whole thing. Hop on past the break to see what we mean.

Sony Ericsson Walkman W995a

As the first Walkman phone with a 3.5mm audio jack, it shows it means business by supporting the best headphones on the market without an adapter, and if you don’t want to use headphones at all, it has built-in stereo speakers

Lenovo USB Video Card Goes HD

The people at Displaylink must be all work no fun type workaholics. All they have been trying to do is increasing the number of pixels available on our computer desktops so we can become more productive like them. Well, that’s just fine because guys behind Lenovo are just the same as Displaylink’s engineers. Having said that, it’s really not a surprise that Lenovo would pick Displaylink’s new HD-capable DL-195 to power its USB-to-DVI video card.

The duo-core DL-195 boosts resolution of the Lenovo adapter to 2048 x 1152 in 16:9 ratio and 1920 x 1200 in 16:10. It includes native HD res support at 1080p as well, but don’t expect to watch any HDCP-encrypted on the secondary monitor.

No, it’s not on par with the most powerful 17-inch laptops from Alienware, but it’s pretty hefty for a 15-inch model.
