MSI's successor - spiritually, at least, if not literally - to the Wind PC launched last year looks to be a much more interesting system. It's still powered by an Atom processor, but the periphery components and chassis have been jazzed up somewhat.
The DE200 is available in black, red, blue and white; the first improvement over the debut Wind nettop. Inside there's a 1.6GHz Atom N230 CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive. An AMD ATI Radeon 4350 should take care of any graphics-based application not too intense for the Atom CPU, as well as offering video-decoding and running other ATI Stream GPU-accelerated applications and providing VGA and HDMI outputs.

For the most part the ASUS Extreme NGTX275/HTDI/896MD3 is a typical GeForce GTX 275 graphics card. In terms of performance we found nothing unusual about the Extreme NGTX275, and when it came to overclocking it was just as impressive as other refernce cards. The cooler, which is also from the reference card, performed as expected and for the most part we were pleased with it.

In use the Sapphire Radeon HD4770 512MB graphics card performed admirably. It is not the ultimate gaming solution (and doesn’t claim to be), but for about $100 it is definitely impressive. It can put up solid numbers in games with the settings turned up and it won’t make your electric meter spin out of control in the process.

For us gamers types of people, we need a mouse pad that has a large surface, can provide us with smooth movements, while at the same time give us precise control while using our high DPI mice. Even I found out, the hard way, that those small Wal-Mart special 3 dollar mouse pads just can’t cut it with today’s multi-function fully adjustable gaming mice of today. Coming from a very low DPI setting where we need a very large surface to make our shot to take out the bad guy, the last thing we need to be doing is having to lift the mouse up and move it to the other side to continue that movement, and losing our chance at a perfect shot.
