Samsung Series 7 UE40B7020 40in LED LCD TV Review

Having been suitably impressed by the first TV from Samsung's premium new LED range, the classy UE46B8000, we turn our attentions today to Samsung's cheaper Series 7 LED range, as represented by the 40in UE40B7020 (or UE40B7020WW to give you its full name).

Aesthetically, the UE40B7020 is almost as pretty as its more expensive sibling. Again it's the screen's remarkable slimness that first catches the eye; thanks to its use of edge-mounted LED backlighting, it's under 30mm deep at its deepest point - a particularly startling achievement when you consider that Samsung has somehow managed to fit digital and analogue tuners into such a tiny space. Suddenly all those arguments we've heard from manufacturers who say you have to use external tuner boxes with super slim TVs seem rather less convincing.

JVC ships 42-inch LT-42WX70: $2,399.95 for more colors than you'll ever notice

JVC seemed pretty proud of its LT-42WX70 back at CES, and while some may consider this unit's main selling point a fillip, graphic professionals will likely disagree. The Xiview LT-42WX7 is a 42-inch 120Hz 1080p panel which targets imaging junkies and those who just can't get enough of those wild, vivacious colors seen in Family Guy re-runs. Said display covers 96 percent of the Adobe RGB color space, theoretically making it suitable for image editing. If you're buying all that, you can voice your support right now with $2,399.95. Full release is after the break.

Cresyn C750E Earphones

Cresyn is a relatively unknown brand, but they are the OEM behind boatloads of different headphones branded under different names. Cresyn recently decided to launch a full range of headphones and in-ears and brand them under their own name promising better value for money and something for everybody. The earphones we got for review are dubbed the Cresyn C750E and are their best bet at a balanced armature based in-ear solution. Featuring a slim design and a decent bundle they aim to take a piece of the market from the other sub $100 in-ears. The tip mounting system is the same as that featured on Shure and recent Westone in-ears so there should not be any problem with getting decent after market tips for these in-ears.

HP's MediaSmart Server LX195 reviewed: impressive, but flawed

After being introduced to the world late last month, we've heard little else about HP's lower-end MediaSmart Server LX195... until now, obviously. This little media streamer made its way into the HotHardware labs for a little Q&A, and it managed to escape with lots of praise, a mild amount of criticism and a price tag that'll likely be too steep for most to swallow. As for performance and features, the LX195 was found to shine; the Media Collector, iTunes server and Time Machine backup functionality all worked great. Unfortunately, the "endless loop of updates" seen during the initial setup and the lack of an April update -- which was sent out to the EX series last month -- left somewhat of a bitter taste in reviewers mouths. Overall, the system delivered and worked as advertised, but the $360 to $400 street price is apt to turn all but the hardest of hardcore HP fans away, not to mention that the aforesaid EX update (which will hit the LX195 this fall) will require users to completely wipe their HDD and start over from scratch. EVGA GeForce GTX 275 FTW Edition Review

FTW! A common acronym used by gamers which means: For the Win. But do they know where FTW was derived from and how long it has been in use? The phrase actually started back in the 70’s with the popular game show Hollywood Squares, when a contestant was positive that he was going to beat his opponent he (she) would say For the Win, which was later made an acronym FTW. There was another meaning for FTW, but this was more negative and, as of late, it is not used as commonly. (Use your imagination)

The EVGA GeForce GTX 275 FTW Edition is an overclocked version of the GTX 275 NVIDIA based GPU. The EVGA GTX 275 FTW Edition has a 713 MHz GPU core clock speed and 1260 X2 MHz of Memory clock, as opposed to the standard GTX 275, which comes with 633MHz (core) and 1188 X2 (memory). The EVGA GeForce GTX 275 FTW Edition comes standard with 896 MB of DDR3 Memory and has 240 processing cores, as well as a maximum digital resolution of 2560 X 1600.
