HTC Landcaster Android phone gets leaked, headed to AT&T

For the most part, Android phones such as the G1 have been exclusive to T-Mobile in the US, but if this leaked slide is true, we will be seeing an Android phone debut on AT&T as well. The HTC Landcaster comes with a 3-megapixel camera, tri-band EDGE, dual-band HSPA (850/1900MHz) connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, A-GPS, and microSD card expansion slot. It’s a splitting image of the HTC Magic, but slide it sideways and a QWERTY keypad appears for a more convenient way to input text. Of course, this could just be the result of a very creative mind, but with nothing to indicate it being a sham, we’re considering this as the truth for the time being. The target release date is on August 3 which we’re hoping will strictly be followed. Granted that it’s still a whole 2 months away from hitting the market, we’ll probably be reporting more on this new Android phone as the weeks and months go by.

ASUS ENGTX295 and ENGTX285 TOP

Few months ago we reviewed GeForce GTX285 and GTX 295. GTX 295 was fastest graphics card that you could find at that moment and GTX 285 was “strange” model that could get negative or positive criticism depending on what are you searching for. Since then, situation on the graphics card market has changed. GeForce GTX 285 got serious competitor in form of Radeon HD 4890 that isn’t in same price range but it offers similar performance levels which make this card much more interesting choice for many gamers. Of course it is not too farfetched that AMD (ATI) will soon launch HD 4890X2 that should be fastest graphics card at that moment. Depending on moment at which ATI will present HD 4890X2, NVIDIA will have longer or shorter period in which will have faster graphics card on the market. While we wait for “summer heat” to come, we will present you two ASUS graphics cards based on fastest NVIDIA GPUs.

NZXT Cryo LX Aluminum Notebook Cooler Review

When it comes to cooling our notebooks we often take for granted that there are many products out there to choose from. We worry quite a bit about keeping our PCs cool, but not so much about our notebooks, for some reason the heat from them is just one of those things that we accept and go on with our lives. Heat though is bad for any computer components, it will shorten the life span and can possibly even cause damage to the components.

Up on the review block today I’ve got the NZXT Cryo LX Aluminum Notebooks Cooler and this thing is huge, meant to handle notebooks up to 19". The Crylo LX features three 120mm fans to move air, and keep your notebook cool, along with the fans it also features a built-in USB
hub as well. So how does it perform?

Danger Den 295 GTX Water Block Review

When Nvidia introduced the 295GTX video card, we were all amazed at its shear raw power this video card had. It quickly took the top performance spot in gaming and in benchmarking.

So, it was nothing for us users to overclock this powerful video card to gain a little bit more performance, but as always the stock cooler provided just enough cooling to keep the video cool during normal or mild overclocking stages. When we started really cranking things up a few notches, the air cooler just was not cutting it. Not to mention the way Nvidia designed the original air cooler. It would dump half of the hot air this video card produced back into the chassis, causing our other components to get a little warmer than normal.

Palm Eos on track for AT&T release second half of 2009

The Palm news just keeps coming today. Looks like Centro successor Eos might be coming sooner than expected, with this purported AT&T powerpoint slide listing a second half 2009 ship date, along with a "new Palm OS experience" tagline that we're gonna take to mean webOS for now (still no 100 percent confirmation, unfortunately), all the specs listed were the same as we heard before: 2.63-inch, 320 x 400 capacitive touchscreen, 4GB storage, POP3, IMAP, and EAS support, integrated IM client, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, and a sexy thin and light form factor. Keep an eye out for this one, we think it might go places.

Patch those leaks: HTC’s new Android device and Palm Pre business launch guide

Today has been exciting for mobile phone enthusiasts. First, information on the HTC Lancaster was released. Details about the Lancaster include a 2.8″ touchscreen, full size slide out QWERTY, and will feature a unique HTC Social Networking integration client. Launch date on ATT is slated for August 3rd.

The next bit of information is the entire business sales guide for the Palm Pre. The guide covers everything from an overview of the Pre as it pertains to business customers to the guiding questions the sales staff must ask to determine if the Pre is right for a business user. We also learned that the battery will give the Pre a 5-hour talk time for users. That’s some good information to know.

Blackberry Magnum, Onyx, Pearl 3G, and Gemini to harmonize on AT&T

BlackBerry lovers, AT&T beckons. Looks like the just-reviewed Onyx is heading to AT&T and, as rumored before, so is the Magnum. We've got no pics of the latter device, but it's being touted here as the "BlackBerry Bold portfolio evolution" and uses the same processor as the Bold. It's also got a HVGA touchscreen, QWERTY pad, quad-band GSM / GRS / EDGE, GPS, and WiFi. Want more? How about an apparently non-flip Pearl 3G with 3.6 Mbps of HSDPA goodness, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jack, trackball, SureType, and aGPS. Rounding out this quartet is the Gemini, with a 512MHz processor, 256MB flash memory, 128MB RAM, Bluetooth, QVGA LCD, 2 megapixel sans flash, trackball, QWERTY keyboard, 3.5mm headset jack, a microSD slot, possibly GPS, and sadly, no 3G. There's no release date in sight, but hey, knowing they're on the way is half the battle, right?

LG RHT497H DVD / HDD Recorder Review

The RHT497H is one of three new DVD/HDD combi recorders from the LG stable, and like last year's models they set out to provide a decent range of features without making much of a dent in your bank balance. With its 160GB hard disk, the RHT497H is the cheapest of the trio, but if that's not enough storage space then you could opt for the RHT498H (250GB) or the RHT499H (320GB) - apart from hard-disk capacity the three decks are identical.

The RHT497H is equipped with a single Freeview tuner and the full range of Freeview+ features, including Series Recording. This makes it easier to record your favourite programmes, but once again the lack of twin tuners prevents you from recording one channel and watching another, denying you the flexibility of PVRs like Sky+ or the twin-tuner DMR-BS850 from Panasonic. It's a shame but not unexpected.

Motorola MC55 Rugged Smartphone Review

The MC55 is what Motorola calls an EDA or Enterprise Digital Assistant. This means it's not designed to be plonked down on the table next to your keys on a night out to show off what a fancy handset you've got, but instead has been put together to withstand the daily rigours of business use out in the delivery van or at home on the factory floor.

Motorola claims that this is the smallest and lightest of its ruggedised enterprise devices. If that's the case then we wouldn't like to see the other models in the range because this is one hefty beast. It's much larger than it seems in the pictures as it has the width and girth of around four of your average smartphones.
