MSI Wind U200 Spotted

Is it an MSI Wind? Or just one of MSI’s regular laptop? Engadget Chinese received some information re this new MSI Wind netbook called U200. And aside from a bigger 12-inch LED -backlit display with 1366×768 resolution, this MSI netbook seems pretty much packed with features and specs. Some of these include CULV-based processor, GMA 4500M integrated graphics, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Wi-Fi, 3-cell battery (what?!) and weighs in at 3 pounds.

Those specs are certainly impressive except for the 3-cell battery. But you can always upgrade that to a more powerful one although it would have been nice if a 6-cell battery is the default configuration. However it might shoot up the already stiff price of this new MSI machine, which is said to be something around $700.

Alright folks, that is certainly too much for this MSI machine to be categorized as a netbook right?

First Single-PCB GTX 295 Graphics Card Comes from Inno3D

For a good while now, there have been reports that the Santa Clara, California-based NVIDIA is planning to update its fastest graphics card to date, the GeForce GTX 295. According to previous rumors, the graphics chip maker is planning to announce a dual-GPU card that uses a different design, compared to its current offering. The new dual-GPU GeForce GTX 295 would combine two 55nm GT200 chips on a single PCB, a design feature that is largely similar to that of AMD's own dual-GPU Radeon model. It now appears that we have the very first pictures of said card, in the form of a custom-design graphics accelerator from Inno3D.

According to a recent news article that has surfaced on Expreview, Inno3D has just announced that its upcoming GeForce GTX 295 will be based on the previously-rumored single-PCB reference design of the GTX295, codenamed P658.

Slimmer PS3 in store at E3?

Rumors of some sort of Sony announcement at E3 have been floating around for a couple weeks now, and it certainly seems like something's afoot -- hot on the heels of that officially non-existent white US DualShock 3 appearing this morning, we're hearing that a revised PS3 is in the works. It's not clear exactly what's going down, but the hot whispers right now say that it's the long-rumored slimmed-down redesign of the current console, not just a color change or storage bump. That makes a certain amount of sense, given the endless chatter of a price cut and Sir Howard Stringer's recent comments about the system being too expensive -- a trimmed-up redesign is right on schedule with those smaller Cell and RSX chips, and it could still possibly include some of that rumored motion-sensing hardware while driving down costs.

HTC Magic - Google Android Smartphone Review

With all the hoo-ha surrounding Palm's upcoming Pre and a possible new iPhone on the way, Google's Android OS has fallen out of the limelight somewhat. In part, this has been due to a serious shortage of new hardware. Despite lots of Android related product announcements, the T-mobile G1 has remained the only Android handset available in the UK for around seven months. Thankfully, that's all changed now that the HTC Magic has landed on these shores.

One of the big criticisms of the original G1 was that its bulky frame and jutting jaw line bestowed it with all the physical beauty of Nora Batty. Thankfully HTC learned its lesson, as the Magic is a much sleeker and more refined looking phone.

Logitech's totally rad G19 gaming keyboard now on sale

For no particular reason -- let's just blame blatant capitalism in the face of uncertain times -- Dell's online store has a 30 day exclusive on Logitech's new G19 gaming keyboard, and just started selling the thing at $180 a pop, or $260 when bundled with the G9 laser gaming mouse. Sure, that might sound like a lot of money, but just remember the next time you reach a weathered, calloused index finger across your keyboard to toss your last grenade at a grim virtual enemy: you could've paid $180 to do the exact same thing while listening to Korn.

Razer Mamba Gaming Mouse Review

Few questions divide opinion among the gaming community more than which is the best gaming mouse. Different shapes, weights, DPI settings, tracking technologies; all of these are up for debate though ultimately are down to personal preference. However, there's one thing that can't be denied; wired mice are better than wireless ones. By which I mean, compared to a wired mouse, there's a noticeable lag between you moving the mouse and an action occurring on screen when using a wireless one.

Not that some people seem to notice the difference, but it's definitely there and can be off-putting. However, even the most avid gamer spends a lot of their time doing other things on their computers that aren't as demanding of a mouse and so the convenience of a wireless one is welcome.

Asus M4N82 Deluxe SLI AM3 Motherboard Review

We've been running our Phenom 2 reviews on an Asus M4A78T-E board and it's a very capable board driving speeds of up to 4 GHz on selected Phenom 2 X4 CPU's. It's not a particularly fancy board so we decided to look at one of the Asus M4N82 Deluxe SLI boards. The board supports AM3 CPU's but uses DDR2 instead of DDR3. The ability to use DDR2 instead of DDR3 makes the M4N82 Deluxe a good option for value minded enthusiasts. Upgrade the Motherboard and CPU but keep that killer kit of DDR2 and save some money.

To see what the performance difference is between DDR2 and DDR3 we've left the results from the M4A78T-E on the charts and finally we'll get to see the differences, if any, between using DDR2 VS DDR3 on the Phenom 2 X4 955 BE, the flagship Phenom 2 CPU.
