MacBook Touch by Unofficial Apple Designer

Tommasco Gecchelin has virtually confirmed that a MacBook tablet is coming. There’s no mention of a MacBook Nano Touch, however but, then, we’re only really interested in the multitouch feature on a MacBook. The new design will be groundbreaking in not just the touch panel implementation on an Apple laptop but the inclusion of a screen that actually folds flat on the table. You can’t do this on current MacBooks which only go so far.

The MacTouch will weight around 1 kilo and will feature a very wantable OLED screen. OLED screens aren’t only better with wider viewing angles than current LCDs, but they are also flexible. Imagine what Apple can do with OLED. Unfortunately, since the designs are only coming out now, it’s most likely we’ll have to wait for at least another year before seeing prototypes of Tommasco Gecchelin’s MacBook Touch. [designer is a Yanko Designer and does not officially work for Apple.]

Hands-on - Century's Netbook Stand with DVD Super Multi-Drive and HDD

A little bit over a month ago our good friends at Century came to our office to show us an early prototype of their Netbook stand cooler with DVD Super Multi-Drive. Two days ago this little baby became officially official, and we can share with you some first class hands-on pictures.

Basically it's a real all in one for your Netbook. It keeps cool thanks to a fan, and also gives you an additional DVD Super Multi drive, an additional HDD and additional USB HUB… Granted this may not be the most elegant stand available, but if you're a Netbook fan you may want to consider this nice little upgrade whether you travel around or not.

ASUS Eee PC 1008HA up for pre-order in the UK

It shouldn't be long now, Yanks. With ASUS' strikingly thin Eee PC 1008HA -- which we toyed with for an unhealthy amount of time at CeBIT this year -- up for pre-order in the UK, we're just certain a US launch is imminent. As of now, Britons with £379.50 ($565) can get in line for the Midnight Blue edition, which should be dispatched in around a month or two according to Amazon UK. For those feeling something a bit less vivid, the all-white version can be ordered up at LaptopsDirect for £20 more. Too pricey for an Atom-powered netbook? Let your wallet be the judge.
