Viliv S5 Lightning Review (Netbook, Meet MID)

At .92lbs, the Viliv is a bit hefty in your hands even though it's 1.5lbs lighter than most netbooks (it's sitting on an Asus Eee 1000HE here). Still, the Viliv kept surprising me with its speed. Loaded with the same processor as the Vaio P, the system doesn't actually run XP faster than any Atom-based, but to see installation bars and downloads move so quickly on such a tiny device is always a bit of a mindfrak.

AC Ryan Playon! DVR TV

These days the way we consume entertainment is rapidly changing, with many of us moving away from conventional physical media in favour of the convenience afforded by an entirely digital media library. With plenty of applications out there now making ripping your DVD collection to high quality AVI files as easy as ripping a CD, not least of which is Nvidia’s CUDA accelerated Badaboom, and digital video recorders becoming an increasingly familiar sight thanks to the popularity of Sky’s Sky+ service, we’re becoming more and more used to our media being accessible at the press of a button.

MSI X-Slim X340 gets dissected

They're still pretty hard to come by 'round these parts, but it looks like the folks at UMPC Fever have managed to track down one of MSI's shiny new X-Slim X340 ultraportables and, like any good citizen of the internet, they've promptly gone and ripped it apart. As you might expect, there aren't exactly a ton of surprises, but it looks like anyone hoping to do a quick and easy 3G upgrade is out of luck, unless, as SlashGear points out, they're willing to ditch the built-in WiFi to free up a PCI-E slot. Hit up the read link below for the complete, not always pretty breakdown.

Few weeks ago we reviewed MSI NetTop , PC that beside its small dimensions had also very low power consumption (35W) and as such was ideal solution for almost any office. This time we got PC that has extremely low power consumption of 65W that includes power consumption of monitor because whole PC is packed at the back side of it. This AIO concept isn’t something new, but till now prices of similar configurations were relatively high compared to performances but MSI AP1900 model is ready to make some radical changes even in that department.

Nikon Coolpix L100 Review

Super-zoom cameras are often also referred to as bridge cameras, because traditionally they have occupied a position between the everyday consumer territory of compact cameras and the more exotic land of the digital SLRs. Most of them have optional manual exposure, multiple metering and autofocus options and other advanced features, which can make them a bit of a daunting prospect for anyone who doesn't know the difference between aperture and shutter speed. The majority of the camera-buying public just want a camera that they can point and click, and be assured of getting a good picture in most situations, without having to fiddle around selecting the right shooting mode or worrying about the ISO setting.

Samsung plays catch-up with 32GB P3

With Cowon's S9 going 32GB a couple of weeks ago, and the iPod touch doing 32GB for eons, Samsung's finally matching its touchscreen brethren with the 32GB P3. Unfortunately, it's only available in Korea at the moment, for the quite reasonable price of 389,000 won -- about $291 US. On an unrelated note: we hear it's nice over there this time of year.
