ASUS GeForce GTS 250 Dark Knight Graphics Card Review

The Dark Knight series of graphics cards have been out for a while now, but this is actually the first time we've had a look at any card that's a part of the series. The particular model we're looking at today is the GTS 250 which, while being nothing more than a rebranded 9800 GTX+, has gained popularity due to the aggressive pricing structure that NVIDIA has done on it

While it might not be anything new technically, it hasn't stopped companies from mixing it up with new coolers, overclocks and different bundles. There are two versions of the GTS 250 under the ASUS Dark Knight series; there's the model we have today which carries with it the upgraded cooling system and stock clocks.

NVIDIA ION-based PCs are small in size but big in performance

NVIDIA Korea introduced ION platform with which Acer's first nettop 'AspireRevo' is equipped.

NVIDIA ION graphics processors turn up the visuals on compact, low-power PCs with performance up to 10X faster than similar systems. When combined with a low-power CPU like Intel Atom, ION graphics processors transform traditional under-performing PC designs into a premium experience.

With the graphics company's Blu-ray 1080p-capable Ion GPU, the system can handle a wide variety of computing needs including high definition video, gaming, sharing digital photos, surfing the web, and other tasks consumers expect from full-size systems.

Pioneer LX03BD 5.1-channel Blu-ray System Review

Pioneer's LX series of home cinema systems places the emphasis on style, but not at the expense of performance. Last year we were blown away by the LX01 package, which blended jaw-dropping design with some of the best sonics we'd ever heard from an all-in-one system - and it was also one of the first systems to boast Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio decoding, despite not even featuring a Blu-ray player.

But since then Pioneer has launched two Blu-ray style systems - the LX01BD, a hi-def upgrade of the LX01 with a combined Blu-ray player/receiver unit and omni-directional speakers, and the LX03BD, an upgraded version of the LX03 system that comes with a separate Blu-ray player, receiver, and a set of satellite speakers. Both are expensive but we're hoping that the performance will justify the cost.

Eizo's FlexScan EV2023W / EV2303W LCD monitors turn off when humans are away

Not that we haven't seen LCD monitors get less demanding when it comes to energy, but we've yet to see a company take eco-friendliness this far. Professional LCD maker Eizo has just announced a new pair of panels (the 20-inch FlexScan EV2023W-H and the 23-inch EV2303W-T) that boast a "human presence sensor." As the phrase implies, these displays are designed to shift to power saving mode when it realizes that its master has vacated the area, and when they return, it automatically flips back on in order to keep from being bashed by one of many USB-connected peripherals. Unfortunately, it seems the human detection timer can't be changed from 40 seconds, and no, there are no current plans to implement a robot presence sensor once the Apocalypse is realized.

So, FSP Group is not a newcomer to the power supply business with well over a decade of design and manufacturing innovation along with more 80 Plus certified power supplies than any other OEM manufacturer.

Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi Review

The Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi is a tiny motherboard that measures a mere 170mm x 170mm so it has a certain cutesy appeal. That said, it doesn't pack the same visual impact as the Micro-ATX Asus Rampage II Gene.

Unpacking the Zotac only takes a moment as the box doesn't contain a huge pile of goodies. In addition to the motherboard you get two SATA cables, one SATA power adapter and the USB Wi-Fi module that gives the Zotac part of its name. We have previously seen the major elements of this motherboard in other models that we have reviewed.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 and 945 benchmarked to high heaven

Just when you though you'd had your fill of insanely detailed benchmarks of processors you may or may not have ever heard of, AMD's new Phenom II X4 955 and 945 hit the scene to get those overclockers all in a tizzy. The top of the line is the 955 "Black Edition" at 3.2GHz, while the 945 plays with a petty 3GHz. And the verdict? They're clearly AMD's fastest so far, but that might not be fast enough. AMD offers great value, but only really matches Intel's Core 2 offerings on performance -- Core i7 is still out in front.
