OCZ Launches Enterprise Level Vertex SSDs

OCZ is once again proving it is easily the most prolific SSD manufacturer out there...

The company has announced the 'Vertex EX' series a range of 2.5in solid state drives targeting server environments and enterprise applications.

Hands-On - AspireRevo small Beautifull and Powerfull

Acer introduced the AspireRevo in the US a few weeks ago, but today both Nvidia and Acer took the time to give in Japan a live demo of the Beast. The AspireRevo is not your average Netop, it is in fact the first Nvidia Ion Based PC supporting the Cuda technology and a 16cores GPU.Ultra compact, smaller than a Mac Mini the AspireRevo with only an Atom N230 is fully capable to handle HD video played from. Blu-Ray drives in 1080p but also to give blasting fast video encoding as well as playing smoothly 3D games like Spore for example.

I have to admit that I was expecting a lot from Both the Ion Platform and the AspireRevo and so far I am quite happy with what I seen an I am both looking forward to get a device to review and to see more Ion based PCs (What about a Mac guys?)... And on the last point the good news is that Nvidia announced 40 news Ion based PCs (Netbook, Notebook, All In One PCs and Nettop) for the coming year.

Sony Sound Bar HT-CT100 Home Theater System Review

Good audio is a must, especially if you invest in a nice HDTV, nothing ruins a viewing experience quicker than bad audio. In my review of the Vizio 47" HDTV the other day, my biggest complaint was the sound, the built-in speakers are just terrible, I knew I had to do something to fix the sound, I just can’t stand bad audio. A full fledged 5.1 or 7.1 channel surround sound system was just not a feasible option for me, do to space limitations, not wanting to run wires and the fact I’ve got children, so the less stuff around the better. Yet I wanted something to improve the sound for not only movies and music but for gaming as well, and I opted for a newer type or style of home theater product called a sound bar.

SlingMedia SlingCatcher Review

Portability and personal choice are the buzz words of today with people pushing more and more for their technology to work anywhere and give them what they want when they want it. This is a trend that was typified by SlingMedia's original SlingBox products. These boxes allowed you to grab the TV, or some other form of video, signal from your home and stream it across the Internet to wherever you were in the world. The software let you control your AV devices from afar, by using IR repeaters to emulate your remotes, keeping you in charge of what you wanted to view

Now there's a new addition to the SlingMedia lineup, the SlingCatcher. This extends the SlingBox concept from just watching your streaming media on computer screens to viewing it on a conventional TV.

Seagate Momentus 2.5 inch 500 GB Hard Drive

We recently got a new laptop in the lab because our Athlon 64 3200 (single core) HP laptop was getting long in the tooth and we decided to go with a dual core laptop from Toshiba. We decided to go with a low to mid-range system because it's primary use is writing reviews and the opportunity to upgrade presents itself to us a lot more often than the ordinary end user. When we got the new Toshiba with the Core 2 Duo T5800 2 GHz CPU and 4 GB of ram with a copy of Vista 64 we thought it was running a little slow for the specifications.

Toshiba Regza 52XV555DB 52in LCD TV Review

Whatever else we might end up saying about the 52XV555DB, one thing we can say with absolute certainty right away is that it's remarkably affordable. Not so long ago an LCD TV bigger than 40-42in would have set you back an arm and a leg, yet here's a 52in LCD TV - with a Full HD resolution to boot - that can be yours for comfortably under £1,000. Crazy. But in a good way.

Obviously any 50in-plus TV will make a pretty dramatic impact on any room it appears in. But there's something especially imposing about the 52XV555DB, thanks to the groovy slight convex curve in the set's highly-glossed black bezel, a neat silver trim around its outside, and finally the bold, almost toy-like lines of its desktop stand. Somehow it manages to look fun and serious all at the same time.
