GlacialTech Launches 5610 Plus PWM & 5610 Plus Silent

GlacialTech Inc., a diverse provider of cooling, power supply, and PC enclosure solutions for consumer and industrial applications, and a world-class provider of cost effective cooling components and chassis launches the latest 5610 Plus PWM CPU cooler and 5610 Plus Silent CPU Cooler. The unique design incorporates a specially aligned sinter heat-pipe combination of two pipes that dissipate the heat from the CPU directly into the heat sink fins. From there, the Silent version’s fan quietly and efficiently brings the temperature down.

GlacialTech has implemented a cost effective and useful way to keep your processor cool. When running resource hungry applications and you have the PWM version installed, turn up the RPM to 2700 to manage your heat dissipation more effectively. While the PC is idle or doing non-intensive work, turn the RPM back to 800. This is how you manage your power consumption, your decibels and your overall peace of mind. Alternatively, the users have the option to purchase the Silent version as GlacialTech offers you the variety and options to suit your needs.

Wistron Firstbook Snapdragon-Based 3G Netbook

Lurking in the second half of the ARM Snapdragon video we wrote about this morning is the Wistron Firstbook, a Linux-based netbook designed around the same chipset that powers the Toshiba TG01. Resembling a Sony VAIO P, the Firstbook has integrated 3G WWAN connectivity and a widescreen display. Full specifications of the Wistron Firstbook are unknown. It’s believed to have an 11.1-inch display in addition to integrated mobile broadband, and we’d assume WiFi and Bluetooth are in there too.

It’s unclear whether the Wistron Snapdragon netbook is a product headed toward production or merely a demonstration platform for ARM. Based on the fact it shared booth-space with the TG01 - which is launching over the summer - we’d like to think it’s simply waiting for the right manufacturer to brand it.

GMC System Cases Roundup Of Three Review

The Korean GMC Company has been manufacturing computer cases since 1996. Its brand is often associated with midrange products without extraordinary features although some people may remember the flat HTPC cases from the Noblesse AV series or the slender cases from the Slim-ATX series. And today we are going to discuss three rather interesting products from that firm. Two of them, the R2 Toast and R3 Corona, are based on the same chassis and resemble each other very much. Both represent an original approach to reducing the dimensions of the computer case.

The third model, AVC-K2 Ebony, is designed for HTPCs. As opposed to most products of that class, it is a regular tower rather than a flat case. Well, it is only regular in terms of interior design and shape because its front panel is unique. So, let’s get started. The R2 Toast and R3 Corona share the same interior and only differ in the design of the front panel, so we will be using the R3 Corona for our discussion. Trying to create a compact case, the developers usually go one of two ways: they switch to microATX format and reduce the height of the case or, occasionally, switch to microATX and position the mainboard in the case horizontally, producing a characteristic cubic shape.

Nvidia Working On GTX 295 With Single PCB

Expreview has published this picture of the new GTX 295, which it says features a single PCB and a new cooler.
Although Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 295 looks like a single unit with a huge cooler, anyone who’s seen the insides of one will know that the card’s two GPUs are in fact mounted on separate PCBs. Unlike the Radeon HD 4870 X2, the GTX 295 really is two graphics cards sandwiched together, but the word is that Nvidia is working on a new version of the GTX 295 that mounts the two GPUs on a single PCB.

According to Expreview, Nvidia plans to launch a single-PCB implementation of the GTX 295 in a couple of months. The site has a picture of the reference design for the card (right), which it says has a PCB design codenamed P658. Comparatively, the codename for the original GeForce GTX 295 PCB was P656, says the site.

In terms of size, Expreview reports that the length of the PCB remains at 266.7mm, and that card’s clock speeds will also be the same as the original GTX 295. The site also notes that the card will feature eight-pin and six-pin power connectors, which was the same configuration on the original card.
