SuperTalent Luxio 64GB AES-256 Encrypted USB Drive Review

Huge USB drive capacities have encouraged users to carry lots data while on the go, and even run software, email clients, or entire operating systems from these tiny little devices which have little or no intrinsic security structure. Generally speaking, whomever holds the USB drive has full and unfettered access to all information it contains. Plug it in, open up a folder and there it is.

Recovering lost and accidentally erased data is one thing, but what happens if you loose a 64GB USB drive packed full of confidential details? Encryption is a good answer. It’s a security system to make data unreadable to everyone but the rightful owner, so in the event a USB drive is lost at least the data won’t be compromised too.

That’s the sales pitch behind the SuperTalent Luxio, a 64GB USB drive which boasts AES-256 hardware encryption. It sounds secure, yet PCSTATS was able to crack the security on the Luxio USB drive W-I-D-E open. In this review we’ll explain how you can gain full and unfettered access to the “encrypted” files in about 10 seconds without any special tools, or even a correct password.

If your TV is too small or too old, congratulations you’re in luck! With a glut of gigantic flat screen LCD HDTV’s hitting the streets right now, it’s never been a better time to upgrade to a wide-screen format large enough to watch High Definition in all its blazing 1080p glory. The best bit is that you no longer have to promise away your first born child, 1/5th your estate or that superfluous left arm just to get an LCD flat screen HD TV into your living room.

Galaxy GeForce 9800 GT 1024MB Review

The GeForce 9800 GT has been around for a long time, actually much longer then you probably know. NVIDIA the past two years has had a tendency of refreshing their products. Sometimes this involves minor technical updates, ASIC or even configuration changes. That’s not always the case though. Today’s product is an example of that. A long time ago in a Galaxy far far away, the GeForce 8800 GT was born. Last year this exact same product got rebranded by NVIDIA as the GeForce 9800 GT. This year they’ll even take it a notch up, the 9800 GT is to be rebranded as GeForce GTS 240.

Make no mistake ladies and gentlemen .. it’s all the same product, with minor changes here and there. Granted though, probably one of the most successful GPUs ever made in the history of NVIDIA, is in fact the 8800 series. I mean, how many of you still have a GeForce 8800 GTX and still adore it ?

The 8800 and thus 9800 GT series still offer so much bang for the bucks and it is with that in mind we’ll go for yet another 9800 GT review.

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Ultra Durable 3 Motherboard Review

Back in January while attending CES, I took the opportunity to visit GIGABYTE’s demo suite and meet the new team. This was one of the better highlights of attending simply because they’ve made some great strides over the last two years becoming the fastest growing motherboard manufacturer among the enthusiasts. This is largely in part to their commitment to the enthusiast community.

Many of their past motherboards aimed at enthusiasts on a budget have proven to be extreme performers even without the flashier heat sinks, heat pipes, and LEDs. The P45 and X48 series have been especially nice to put to the test. So, when their EX58-UD3R arrived, it was evident another GIGABYTE winner was possibly in hand. Sure, it’s a bold statement. But just have a look.

Gigabyte GA-MA790GP-DS4H AM2+ Motherboard Review

AMD has been getting a lot of press these days with its recently released Phenom II processors. We covered the Phenom II X4 940 launch six weeks ago, and we focused on the CPU for that review. This is the second half of that review; we are reviewing the 790GX chipset, the Dragon platform, and actually overclocking the Phenom II X4 940 above 4GHz. The GA-MA790GP-DS4H was one of three boards available at launch that supported and proved to be a sufficient platform for both stock and overclocked testing of Phenom II.

The GA-MA790GP-DS4H is an unusual board in that it works both as an enthusiast overclocking platform and a meek desktop platform. The board has extensive support for overclocking but includes features like an integrated HD3300 GPU and SidePort connected GPU memory to enable HD video playback. Today, we’ll test the integrated GPU along with some beefier discrete GPUs and overclock Phenom II further than we have before.
