Psystar Wins Legal Round Against Apple

In an interesting twist, Computer World is reporting that a federal judge ruled last week that the Mac clone maker Psystar can continue its countersuit against computer maker and Mac OS developer Apple Corporation.
Psystar is (in)famous for legally battling Apple for the last seven months, calling them out for breaking antitrust laws, and the Judge hinted that if Psystar can prove its allegations, other manufacturers may be able to sell computers with Mac OS X pre-installed. This is bad news for Apple, as currently they are the only company legally allowed to sell computers with Mac OS X, but many people criticize them for charging an “Apple tax”. On the contrary, if other companies can sell Mac OS X, it may lead to a decline in Mac sales, but it could lead to an increase in Apple’s OS market share.

Rumor Control: Intel And AMD To Design Future Console GPUs?

Even though next-generation consoles are still years ahead of us (or so we are lead to believe), a number of rumors have surfaced regarding the graphics processing units that these will carry.
Sony may be struggling with the PS3, but that doesn’t mean they are giving up on its successor. The latest rumor is that the PlayStation 4 will be using an Intel GPU as opposed to Nvidia’s. Even though Intel has yet to prove themselves as a decent contender in hardware-accelerated graphics, Sony has apparently been tempted by their next-generation architecture “Larrabee”, which Intel has been sampling for a short period. Could Sony be willing to drop IBM’s highly touted Cell technology all of a sudden?

Samsung Syncmaster 2243BW 22-Inch LCD Display Review

All widescreen LCD monitors are not created equal, and unfortunately this leads to pretty confused looking consumers as they try to understand why identical screen sizes can differ in price by hundreds of dollars. Put simply, the LCD technology behind the screen size is the reason. The most common LCD panel technology is called TFT/TN, for Twisted Nematic. It’s economical to manufacture and has a quick pixel response time, but suffers from shallow viewing angles and often limited colour gamut. The trade off with widescreen TFT/TN based LCD displays is that while the are very affordable, sometimes looking at the center of the screen places you at an angle steeper than that supported by the display.

Asus P5E3 Premium/Wifi-Ap.N Motherboard Review

When a new Intel chipset launches the initial motherboards are often mainstream offerings. It’s then only a matter of time till a board that really stands out from the crowd is released. Who can forget the ASUS’ 945/espresso maker? Or ECS’s legendary PF88 combo board that ran both Intel socket 775 and AMD K8 CPUs!? Roll Up Keyboard Packing Tape Design

What wondeful creativity was imagined in this roll up keyboard packing tape design. Although it is for a completely different purpose and does not actually play music, it still reminds me of the huge midi music keyboard seen in the movie Big.
This roll up keyboard FFFFound at ReubenMiller is a wonderful designer packing tape that is clearly too pretty for simple packing when you move. I could actually see it on the walls of a musical prodigy child more than the tan cardboard boxes, but I wonder if someone will put it for such use.

Review: Clarion MiNd Mobile Internet Navigation

The Clarion MiND appears to be a GPS navigation device at heart, but expanded into a special type of mobile internet hybrid device packed with connectivity and applications bringing dangerously close to a mobile PC, but just not quite. The mobile device has many addition features such as an internet browser, YouTube viewer, media player, file storage, weather, news, maps and of course navigation but runs its own type of hard-wired OS that leaves little for customizations.
