SunBeamtech Acrylic HTPC Chassis Review

Face it, 50% of us Gurus really do like pimped PCs, shiny, bling, heck .. the Feng Shui attitude of, for example, UV lighting in a PC. Therefore it is often used by many of us. Some hate it, some love it .. I’m still in that stage where I am fascinated by that radiating light effect. And so do others, as complete spraypainted PCs, acrylic PC cases, modded cased have been build and based from often merely a simple idea .. a figure, a color, material .. and lighting..

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P X58 Motherboard Review

Innovations in the computer hardware industry don’t have the same effect on me that they have on most consumers. As a reviewer, I’ve accepted that there will be a new product line almost every month. It doesn’t phase me that Intel launches chipsets almost as fast as the weather changes; but it does annoy me. In fact, despite my direct connection into the industry, there are many times that I become frustrated with the manufacturers. On November 2nd, Gigabyte launched the GA-EX58-UD5 motherboard for the freshly-announced Intel Core i7 and X58-Express platform. Two months later, that same EX58-UD5 motherboard is now end of life and replaced by the EX58-UD4P.

Samsung NC10 Netbook Review

The Samsung NC10 doesn’t exactly break the mould when it comes to design. It’s a standard 10.2-inch Netbook that in terms of design sits squarely between the Asus Eee PC 1000 and the MSI Wind. This isn’t a bad thing, as Samsung has clearly looked at what works and put its own spin on it.
The result is clearly the best Netbook so far. It’s certainly one the most aggressively priced, as along with the Advent 4211, which is a rebadged MSI Wind, it’s the first 10-inch Netbook to break the sub-£300 barrier.
The design is compact and the look crisp. Available in three colours - black, blue and white - the matt finish of our white review sample is typical. In the hand it feels solid and robust.

Dell Inspiron Mini 12 Notebook Review

While the first netbooks featured 8.9-inch displays, with later models usually boasting larger 10.1-inch panels, Dell’s Inspiron Mini 12 is the first we’ve seen to use a 12.1-inch screen.
It’s bound to appeal to some users - the larger screen inevitably resulting in a less cramped interface, but does the extra size mean you’d be better off with a regular, more powerful full-sized laptop?
Colours and contrast on the Super-TFT screen are excellent, as with the smaller Mini 9. Dell has put the extra real estate to good use, fitting a higher 1280 x 800 pixel resolution than most netbooks. With enough space for multiple windows, it offers better usability than its rivals.

EVGA To Provide Voltage Tuner, Enthusiasts Already Overjoyed

EVGA is one of NVIDIA’s largest partners providing the latter’s fans with some of the most solid graphics cards on the market. The company is also a favorite among computer and technology enthusiasts, as it offers factory-overclocked cards, based on NVIDIA GPUs, providing its customers with an impressive support team. On that note, EVGA has just decided to let its users in on an upcoming product, which will come in the form of a software application, designed for overclocking enthusiasts who go all out on getting the most out of their high-performance rigs.
According to the forum post, where the application was announced to the EVGA community, the initial version of the software will only support all versions of EVGA’s GTX 260 on 65nm, 280 and 295 cards. In addition, the voltage-tuning application will only work on EVGA graphics cards and only for those users who register their graphics cards. This is rather restrictive, but then again, EVGA has created a powerful community, which has already responded favorably to the upcoming product.

Alpine Delivers Trio Of New In-Car Navigators

If that ‘92 Riviera is getting a bit long in the tooth, Alpine’s got a trifecta of ways to simply spruce it up rather than take on an all-too-burdensome new car payment. Both the IVA-W203/P1 and IVA-W505/P1 are double-DIN head units with touchscreen displays (6.5- / 7-inches, respectively), support for iPods / sat ratio / HD Radio / Bluetooth, preloaded NAVTEQ maps of the US and Canada, a foursome of map viewing options and text-to-speech for good measure. For those with single-DIN gaps in the dash, there’s the all new IVA-D106, which offers up a slide-out 7-inch touch panel, 18-watt x 4 amplifier and support for navigation via the optional NVE-P1 drive. All three systems are available as we speak for $1,100, $1,400 and $350 in order of mention.

Eve Online Thief Steals 80 Billion Of In-Game Currency

You can always trust EVE Online to provide a good scandal. The MMO / Virtual World / economics toy is now approaching its sixth year of life and still proving its ability to surprise players with its emergent gameplay shenanigans.
This week, a former investments manager at the in-game Dynasty Banking organisation, called Xabier, disappeared with over 80 billion ISK, the game’s currency. In real money terms, it’s thought to be worth around £1,850.
At a time when the Government is chucking millions at the banking black hole, a couple of grand might not sound like much, but in the world of EVE Online, such a crime can basically go unpunished. EVE’s special sauce is its player-driven economy, which is left almost completely unregulated by the developers, CCP.
