Now, that’s what Chinese are capable of, doing things not even thought of before. Even Microsoft would have been taken aback by this novel display at Computex, wherein a Chinese company unveiled the world’s first cellphone that runs Microsoft Windows XP. Surprising! What’s more is that the phone, dubbed the xpPhone, has a full QWERTY keyboard and a mammoth 120GB hard drive, and it’s still a phone.
With a competitively large 4.8-inch touchscreen LCD with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, the cellphone runs on a customized AMD chip and supports Wi-Fi, WiMax and GPS, but still has three months before it is marketed in the country. If you thought Chinese phones eat a lot of battery, the xpPhone has about seven hours of backup; I am floored for this one.
