Well, it looks like the whole “Samsung dropping Omnia HD name” story was a bit overblown.
Yes, it is true that Symbian based Omnia HD will be marketed as i8910 HD in some countries, in order not to confuse it with original Samsung Omnia that runs on Windows mobile. But Netherlands is the only country that we have some sort of confirmation about the drop of Omnia name so far. But we do not know which countries are affected by this.
However, we can now safely confirm that Samsung Omnia HD is keeping the ”Omnia” part of it’s name in Italy. Where Samsung is co-promoting the Omnia HD handset with a special launch event of X-Men Origins:Wolverine.
