nVidia Not Buying VIA Shares

nVidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang has dismissed rumours that his company would be buying VIA shares, according to DigiTimes.

While the companies are currently working closely, that relationship is limited to collaboration on nVidia's ION 2 platform, which will support VIA's Nano processors, says Huang. No investment will be heading VIA's way from nVidia, for the foreseeable future at least.

Considering nVidia's current financial status it's not too surprising that the company isn't looking to invest any significant capital. AMD's acquisition of ATI (which I think I'm safe in thinking is probably the only part AMD making money these days) goes to prove that such mergers aren't necessarily a good thing.
