The official word comes today that Samsung is going to produce a 12.1-inch notebook, the NC20. The NC20 is a larger cousin to the NC10 netbook from Samsung and this larger version will ship with a Via Nano processor.
VIA, who is likely quite happy with the Psion netbook trademark situation, has always referred to these small notebooks as “mini-notebooks” rather than recognize Intel’s “netbook” preference and that’s what VIA is calling the NC20. This new notebook from Samsung will use a 1.3 GHz VIA Nano processor and a 12.1-inch display that delivers 1280×800 resolution out of the box. The integrated VIA Chrome9 graphics set this apart from the Atom-based netbooks shipping today.
