Early last month, NVIDIA launched its highest-performance graphics cards to date, the 55nm-based GTX 285 and GTX 295, coming as a response to AMD’s dual-GPU HD 4870 X2. Soon after the release of NVIDIA’s latest GeForce cards, speculations emerged on the possibility of an upcoming Radeon graphics card, as a response to its latest offering. On that note, it now appears that the rumor mill keeps on turning and specifications of an alleged Radeon HD 5870 X2 have just been leaked on the Internet.
According to a recent news article on Guru of 3D, a “respectable” Dutch retailer has leaked the details on AMD’s Radeon HD5870X2, a card that appears to be a direct response to NVIDIA’s dual-GPU GTX 295. The card was soon pulled down from the site, but not before its specifications were grabbed by a user. According to the news article on Guru of 3D, the card is going to be featured with a core clock of 800MHz, and a memory frequency of 4800MHz.
